Apex: A first for Indian footwear

How Apex was born

We do not launch silhouettes often, and that is by design.

Every silhouette takes time as we build from the ground up. We develop our own soles, engineer our own technologies, and design every element in-house.

So when we do release a new silhouette, it is done with care, precision, and an uncompromising level of effort.

Apex began with a challenge: to push boundaries and engineer the most technically advanced shoe from an Indian brand —  one that balances comfort, style, and aesthetics.

The Process

1.5 years and nine physical iterations later, every element of Apex was shaped through research and testing.

We studied the most advanced footwear technologies, alongside the unique structures and movements of Indian feet.

TESTING PROTOCOL

Each iteration underwent both machine and human testing.

Each material in each shoe was tested for

  • Abrasion
  • Stretch Tear strength
  • Tensile strength
  • Colour fastness
  • Hydrolysis

Once moulded, every sole was subjected to the following performance testing:

  • Flexing
  • Slip resistance
  • Bonding strength
  • Material performance

The Sole

As with every other sole, we developed our own tooling for Apex's sole from scratch. It is a costly, time-intensive process, something that no Indian shoe brand does.

Three different components are precision-fit and engineered to function as one system.

SPACEWALKX™ FOAM

A strategically placed and two-piece EVA midsole that provides added cushioning at the heel.

SHARKFIN™ STABILITY PLATE

A precision-engineered TPU unit to deliver springback that enhances energy return and forward momentum.

PURE RUBBER OUTSOLE
A pure rubber-made durable grip base that ensures traction and stability for everyday city surfaces.

Mesh Upper

Each upper of a shoe is constructed using 24 individually stitched components, forming a maximalist silhouette, layered with debossed and printed details. Each debossed panel adds the depth that defines the final character of Apex.

Built The Hard Way

Due to its complexity, our factory takes 2.5x longer to produce Apex compared to any other Comet silhouette. That is why our factories hate us.

Choosing the harder path is not romantic. It is uncertain.

But nothing meaningful comes from avoiding difficulty.

This journey demanded patience, rigour, and an obsessive focus on detail — and it shaped every part of this shoe.

We spent 1.5 years refining Apex. Countless late nights and a massive team effort went into getting it right. And still, perfection is not a fixed point. It is something we continue to chase.

We tested Apex with 500 people. Now, we are excited to put it in the feet of 5,000 customers.

Apex is here.
